1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at https://loyolaalumniusa.netlify.app (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered members, and others who use the Site.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Site. Loyola College Chennai Alumni Association USA (LCCAA-USA) ("LCCAA-USA", "we", "us", or "our") reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You may use this Site if you:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Are a graduate (or current student) of Loyola College, Chennai, or an invited guest of a verified member.
• Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
• Agree to maintain the security of your account credentials.

LCCAA-USA reserves the right to verify eligibility and decline or revoke membership at its discretion.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access member-only features (alumni directory, event registration, membership dashboard), you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide truthful and accurate registration information.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately at info@lccaa-usa.org if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3.2 Account Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:

• Provide false eligibility information.
• Violate these Terms or our community standards.
• Engage in conduct harmful to LCCAA-USA, its members, or its reputation.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@lccaa-usa.org.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with the mission of LCCAA-USA. You must not:

• Post, transmit, or share content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful.
• Use the alumni directory to solicit, spam, or conduct unsolicited commercial outreach to other members.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with Loyola College.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its underlying infrastructure.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to collect member data from the Site.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or degrades the performance of the Site for other users.

5. Membership and Dues

LCCAA-USA offers optional paid membership tiers (Annual and Lifetime) that unlock additional benefits. By purchasing a membership:

• You authorize us to process payment through our third-party processor, Zeffy.
• Annual memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and do not automatically renew unless you opt in.
• Membership dues are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
• LCCAA-USA reserves the right to change membership pricing with 30 days' advance notice to current members.

6. Donations

Donations to LCCAA-USA are voluntary and non-refundable. LCCAA-USA is organized as a non-profit alumni association; please consult a tax professional regarding the deductibility of your contribution. All donations are processed securely through Zeffy.

7. Events and Registrations

• Event registrations are subject to availability and the specific terms communicated on each event's detail page.
• Refund or cancellation policies vary by event and are stated at registration. Where no policy is stated, registrations are non-refundable.
• LCCAA-USA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events. In such cases, registered attendees will be notified and, where applicable, refunded.
• By attending LCCAA-USA events, you consent to photography and video recording for use in LCCAA-USA communications and social media, unless you specifically opt out at the event.

8. User-Generated Content

You may submit content to the Site (profile information, photos, etc.). By doing so, you grant LCCAA-USA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and use that content solely in connection with operating and promoting LCCAA-USA.

You retain ownership of your content. You represent that you have the right to submit that content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

LCCAA-USA may remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at its sole discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site that is not user-submitted — including the LCCAA-USA logo, design, text, graphics, and code — is the property of LCCAA-USA or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

The "Loyola College Chennai" name and crest are the property of Loyola College, Chennai, and are used by LCCAA-USA with permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

LCCAA-USA does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Site at your own risk.

The alumni directory is a networking tool. LCCAA-USA does not verify the accuracy of member-submitted profile information and is not responsible for interactions between members that occur outside of this platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LCCAA-USA and its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to LCCAA-USA in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LCCAA-USA, its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which LCCAA-USA is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first; if unresolved, through binding arbitration or a court of competent jurisdiction in that state.

14. Links to Third-Party Sites

The Site may contain links to external websites (e.g., Zeffy, LinkedIn, event venues). These links are provided for convenience only. LCCAA-USA has no control over third-party sites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will indicate the updated date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered members by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
